Subject:[amigactive] Monitor questions

Hi

I am currently using a Multivitec 1483 14" multiscan monitor (and no
graphics card).

Whilst it is okay for my current set up, I will be buying an AOne and a
graphics card to go with it. Can I assume that I will find the multivitec to
be a disapointment on such a system?

I don't know anything about monitors other than how to plug them in,
although I have heard of a few buzz words:

Pitch: what is this exactly, the size of the individual points of light
making up the screen? I know smaller is better, but is there a visible
difference between 0.27mm, .26mm and .25mm? And does the type (dot v
aperture grille) make any difference between two monitors with the same
pitch size?

Resolution: I know that anything will be miles better than what I am
currently used to ;-)
What's the hz part of a resolution mean though? e.g. 1600 x 1200 @ 75hz v
1600x1200 @ 67Hz

I pressume in this case, the higher the hz the better - a more stable
picture? Would 1600x1200 @ 67hz be okay to use or would it be better to use
this particular model's lower setting of 1280x1024 @ 79Hz? And would such a
screen be okay?

Thanks for any assistance

Jon
